At the Canvas Lounge we offer a wide range of Create Your Own options, one of which being our Classic Car Canvases/Perspex. So if you own a beloved Car or Motorcycle, simply upload your image and let us take care of the rest!

The image above was sent in by Brian Clinton of Sussex. Brian wanted us to remove the background of his image so that the focus was purely on his E-type Jaguar. We replaced the background with a dense black backdrop, which works really well with the vibrant red of the car. Once Brian had received the Canvas he thanked us and said that "the canvas is amazing" and that he will "be using our services again". We have had many very satisfied customers that have used our Classic Car Canvas/Perspex service.

So dont hesitate, send us your images!

We asked Fat Punk Studio, a few questions to help get an insight behind the work.

So, tell us a brief bit about yourself. Where you were born, grew up and where you are now.

The Fat Punk was squeezed into existence, so let there be vector!!!

Hailing from the stormy sea faring shores of the east coast I swiftly grew and went on to study Computer Animation and Special Effects at Bradford University, England. With creative skills tuned I went on to work for various graphic design houses before re-locating to beautiful Somerset and founding FAT PUNK STUDIO.

How did you get into art?

I grew up in a creative family and from a young age was always drawing and building models of some kind. Art was always my strongest subject at school so it seemed like a natural progression as technology developed to branch out and start using the computer as a tool for design.

What are the influences behind your Work?

Rich elaborate shapes and colours found in architecture or the natural world have all heavily influenced my creativity and aesthetic choices in my work. I also love the play against opposites and contrasting forms. Combining say a skull which is a dead lifeless object with beautiful organic flowers just seems natural to me. I wouldnt say that I am actively rebelling against modern illustrative styles, I am simply designing through the channels of my personal likes and dislikes and striving to create something interesting and refreshing that has a higher priority than dodging conformity just for the sake of it.

Which fellow artists do you admire?

There are many wonderful artsits out there but the biggest influence on my love for the graphic arts was M.C.Escher.

Tell us about 1 of your pieces on the Canvas Lounge website, the inspiration, the colours, and is it your favourite piece on the site?

YO - YO. http://www.thecanvaslounge.co.uk/Canvas-Artwork/Fat-Punk-Studio/YO-YO/464/

My inspiration for this piece came from watching a film by the great Japanese Director Seijun Suzuki who was famous for using very bright almost psychedelic colours in his work. I wanted to create something along these lines which combined my love for contrasting elements with a bright vibrant colour pallette. I noticed that there was a lot of black, white and grey been used by other artists so wanted to do something a tad mind warping this time around!!!! It certainly is one of my favourite multi-coloured pieces of work.

What do you think of the Canvas Lounge?

I love displaying my art on the Canvas Lounge website and its a great way to get your work out there. The quality/craftsmanship you deliver is superb and it is always recognized when we exhibit in art shows/exhibitions across the globe. GO ON........ADD SOME COLOUR TO YA WALLS!

And finally do you have any last comments?

Fat Punk is a full service design studio. We dont constrict our services too much within specific markets, although obviously our styles going to reach out to some more than others, however we try to keep the commissions varied. Mark Rothko

Tate Modern presents an exhibition by one of the worlds most famous and best-loved artists, Mark Rothko. This is the first significant exhibition of his work to be held in the UK for over 20 years.

Tate Modern's iconic 'Rothko Room' works are reunited for the first time with works from Japan. The Seagram Murals were originally commissioned for The Four Seasons Restaurant in the Seagram Building New York.

Rothko's iconic paintings, composed of luminous, soft-edged rectangles saturated with colour, are among the most enduring and mysterious created by an artist in modern times. In the exhibition his paintings glow meditatively from the walls in deep dark reds, oranges, maroons, browns, blacks, and greys.

The exhibition will also focus on other work in series, such as the Black-Form paintings, his large-scale Brown and Grey works on paper, and his last series of Black on Grey paintings, created in the final decade of his life from 1958-1970.

We are extremely pleased to have a collection of work from graphic artist & illustrator Doug Alves. His detailed illustrations of nature are amazing! Doug has worked on some fantastic projects with the likes of BBC2, Michelob, Kiss FM and Honda to name a few. We love the intricate detail and vector line work, and thought Doug's modern approach to drawing nature would look great as large format canvas prints. Check out the dear head image on our new metallic finish, how cool is that!
